Autodesk Quantity Takeoff: Workbook Rounding

Every now and again I get questions about how to "round" numbers in workbook in QTO. Well there is no overall setting but you can tell the formula box that you want the workbook to "round" specific fields.

To round your numbers, click in field you want you round so it will display in the formula box.
 

Now add the text "round" after the =. You will need brackets too in order to tell QTO what to "round"
 

To round for assemblies or thing that already contain brackets, simply just add the round after the = and it will "round" everything already in your formula.
 
 
Check out the above image and notice that all the fields are "rounded" to whole numbers. This could be another great thing that you build into your catalog.

Update to Autodesk Quantity Takeoff 2011: Hotfix Released

Wow, can you believe that we are about to start 2011 in a few days? Time just flew by this year.

Quick Snapshot of what's fixed in the Hotfix:

• Upgrading old QTO projects to QTO 2011 version takes a very long time to complete.
• When upgrading old QTO projects to QTO 2011 version, there is no way to split the WBS from Description.
• Some GAEB catalogs cannot be imported due to duplicate WBS IDs.
• Space cannot be used as separator to parse Description and extract WBS.
• When importing catalogs, unable to preview the catalog items before inputting the separator.
• Changes made to Catalog Parameters for Timberline items are not saved.
• Workbook: After editing the WBS value in the Workbook, the Info-Textbox does not refresh to show the new value.
• Incorrect layout of takeoff items when printing out the Workbook.
• Legend: The scale of the Hatching Symbol is not a fixed value.
• Legend: Count-Symbols with square style have different sizes with area, volume and linear symbols.
• Sometimes, the thickness of the linear object is lost in the canvas.
• Changing the type of the item adds duplicate QTY2 entries to the dropdown list in "Cost Data" tab in takeoff item’s properties dialog.
• Shift+TAB key cannot work in takeoff palette and properties palette.
• Crash: use 'Tab' and 'Enter' key to edit properties palette design tab cell will cause crash.
• Application hangs if using 'Tab' key to go through treelist when only "Value" column is displayed in Design tab of Properties Palette.
